Senior Security Developer to provide technical expertise and implementation guidance on their Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Digital Program, with a focus on next-generation authentication capabilities (Hybrid, Calgary AB preferred).
Job Type: Contract Positions to fill: 1 Start Date: Sep 17, 2026 Job End Date: Dec 01, 2026 Pay Rate: Hourly: Negotiable Job ID: 154911 Our banking client is seeking a Senior Security Developer to provide technical expertise and implementation guidance on their Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) Digital Program, with a focus on next-generation authentication capabilities (Hybrid, Calgary AB - preferred).
Overview: This role supports credential management and authentication activities across the CIAM Digital Program, providing engineering oversight on high-roadmap initiatives including Passkey implementations for Wealth management, Dynamic Step-Up authentication, and Native Biometric SSO. The developer will partner closely with a Business Analyst driving requirements for the Profile Management Tool migration, self-serve account unlock flows, and credential linking, ensuring the team has both the analytical and engineering capacity to deliver scalable, secure solutions. Must-Haves:
- 8+ years of experience in an enterprise IT environment
- Strong understanding of SSO standards and authentication flows (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0)
- Experience writing code for authentication systems
- Experience with API integration and security standards
- Experience with Git or other version control systems in collaborative development environments Nice-to-Haves:
- FIDO2 / passwordless authentication experience
- Passkey or biometric authentication implementation experience
- Experience with object-oriented programming languages
- Prior experience developing within an Agile framework Responsibilities:
- Manage and configure client login processes in Identity Providers, including SSO and MFA, to meet business and security needs
- Design, develop, test,
and integrate code into identity (IdP) systems, including Passkey, Dynamic Step-Up authentication, and Native Biometric SSO capabilities
- Perform authentication policy and code reviews, ensuring code quality, security standards, and adherence to best practices
- Provide recommendations for improving product security and define technical requirements for future projects
- Identify potential design and implementation vulnerabilities and security flaws
- Build standardized security product requirements and report performance metrics against them
- Collaborate with team members and the Business Analyst on project delivery, unblocking progress through troubleshooting
- Investigate and resolve authentication and user management issues, including complex authentication flow debugging
