What is the chance?

As a Mandatory Corporate Actions Service Associate under Canadian Wealth Management Operations, you will be responsible for reviewing and researching incoming physical certificates and DRS statements from various sources. Your efforts will be focused on the accuracy of capturing details and processing historical corporate events for all Canadian Wealth Management (CWM) and Capital Markets (CM) business lines. Incumbent will address escalated questions independently seeking assistance from Team members or Manager as appropriate following established department procedure.

Position contains increased elements of risk which are managed through operational reviews, system checks and adherence to procedures. All responsibilities carried out in accordance with Code of Conduct, RBC Values and Guiding Principles ensuring adherence to Privacy principles.

What will you do?

- Responsible for accurately gathering corporate event details from various external primary and secondary sources (depositories, custodians, etc.) to mitigate operational and market risk
- Follow defined processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Liaise and provide customer service support for individuals requiring research, problem resolution, or securing information from other Operation’s departments, RBC Business, Units, external customer, or industry participants. Address escalated questions independently, seeking assistance from Team Members or Manager as appropriate following established department procedures
- Receipt of certificates from various sources and processes in the client’s account in Broadridge in a timely and effective manner to mitigate market exposure
- Reduce risk or increase efficiency by suggesting process changes and system modifications. Participate in testing and implementation of new systems and processes as required
- Train and act as a resource for other Operation’s team members
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

Must haves:

- Experience in a fast paced, high-risk operations setting




- Experience with Wealth Management Canadian Operations workflow and processing systems including ServiceLink, Broadridge Terminal Services
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Strong analytical skills: ability to proactively identify issues and suggest solutions.
- Organized and detail oriented.
- Strong PC skills including proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Nice-to-have:

- Understanding of functions of departments within Wealth Management Canada Operations (WMCO), as well as Wealth Management and Capital Markets lines of business
- Understanding and/or experience with corporate action events and processes
- Good working knowledge of financial industry and securities

- Research and balancing skills
