This position will be hybrid based out of our Toronto office.



A full stack developer to modernize an established Django + React web application paying down tech debt on a live, actively-shipping codebase. Alongside that, you'll ship smaller, self-contained custom solutions directly to customers, owning delivery end-to-end.

You'll co-define the target patterns with our team, and we expect genuine depth in one of backend (Django/DRF) or frontend (React/TypeScript) with solid working competence in the other. Write design documents and run technical demos to align stakeholders before building Sequence product behaviors into backend/frontend implementation with accurate complexity estimates Design and ship self-contained custom solutions to customers Data Native Investigate and validate datasets with SQL and metrics to ground design decisions Upgrade core frameworks, retire end-of-life dependencies, and decompose oversized modules Reduce tech debt incrementally alongside ongoing product work — safe, incremental refactors over big-bang rewrites 3–5 years building and maintaining production web applications, with genuine depth in one of the following and working competence in the other: ~ Django / Django REST Framework, Python ~ Frontend: React (incl.
