Rotation/Shifts

Days, and evenings including weekends, 8 hour shifts.

Basic Requirements

- Completion of a recognized community college training program in echocardiography , including practicum;
- Registration with College of Medical Radiation Technologists of Ontario (CMRTO), and Sonography Canada and/or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS);
- Three years¿ experience in echosonography;

- Eligible for Certification in CPR;
- Ability to operate relevant equipment and software for imaging, non imaging and patient care applications;
- Ability to assist in invasive procedures;
- Knowledge of septic and aseptic techniques;
- Experience in the development and delivery of programs in one or more of the following areas: mentorship, education, orientation, best practice, communication;
- Ability to perform IV set up, insertion and medication preparation;
- Experience in quality improvement methodology and project management;
- Experience in quality assurance and quality control programs;
- Sound knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
- Ability to multi-task;
- Sound judgement, problem-solving abilities, and Initiative.

Preferred Qualifications

- Undergraduate degree in a related field;
- Education and/or experience in teaching/leadership;
- Experience with various accreditation bodies;
- Experience in 2-D, M-mode, Color, Flow, Pulsed wave and continuous wave Doppler exams, Stress and Pharmacological Echo studies;




- Experience in performing Transesophageal echocardiograms and contrast echos;
- Experience in evaluating and collating exams and providing pertinent patient information to the physician;
- Ability to use echo analysis software packages to enhance obtained information;
- Experience in a hospital workplace;
- Proficiency in English and French oral expression (level 4 - advanced) and comprehension (level 4 - advanced).
