We're looking for a Structural Design Engineer to join our Victoria team. This is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field while contributing to the design, coordination, and delivery of a diverse range of structural projects across Vancouver Island.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As a Structural Design Engineer, you'll play a key role supporting both project delivery and construction-phase services while working alongside experienced engineers and project teams.

Responsibilities include the following

- Design and analyze wood-frame, concrete, steel, and mass timber structures.
- Conduct field reviews and structural observations on a variety of projects, including concrete high-rise, wood-frame, institutional, steel, and mass timber buildings.
- Act as a key liaison between the design team and construction sites to facilitate communication and problem-solving.
- Review shop drawings, contractor requests, and RFIs while helping develop practical and constructible solutions.
- Prepare site instructions and construction-phase documentation.
- Support project engineers with project coordination, technical reviews, and design development.
- Assist in resolving field issues efficiently and collaboratively.
- Gain exposure to all stages of project delivery while developing technical expertise and professional judgment.

Unlike many early-career engineering roles that focus primarily on either design or site work, this position provides meaningful exposure to both, giving you a comprehensive understanding of how projects move from concept through construction.





You'll work directly alongside the Associate leading our Victoria office, providing a unique opportunity to learn firsthand from an experienced structural engineer and senior leader within the firm. WHAT YOU’LL BRING

- B.Sc. in Civil Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology Diploma.
- Registered as, or actively pursuing registration as, an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with EGBC or another Canadian engineering regulatory body.
- 0-3 years of relevant structural engineering, construction, co-op, or site experience.
- Strong understanding of construction drawings and structural systems.
- Familiarity with concrete, wood-frame, steel, and/or mass timber construction.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in the field while collaborating effectively with project teams.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites across Vancouver Island.
