Role Description The Summer Law Student - 2027 role is a full-time, on-site position based in St. Catharines, ON. The student will assist lawyers with legal research, drafting memoranda, and preparing documentation for files and court proceedings.

Daily tasks may include reviewing legislation and case law, helping draft correspondence and agreements, and supporting due diligence and file management. The student will also observe client meetings and court appearances where appropriate, helping with note-taking and follow-up actions.



The role offers hands-on exposure to law firm practice, with guidance from supervising lawyers and opportunities to develop professional skills.

Qualifications

- Foundational knowledge in Law and an interest in multiple practice areas.
- Strong Analytical Skills and ability to apply legal principles to practical fact scenarios.
- Effective Communication and Writing skills, including clear, professional drafting.
- Solid Research abilities, using legal databases and other authoritative sources.
- Enrollment in an accredited law school, with completion of at least first year by Summer 2027.
- Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Professionalism, discretion, and commitment to client service in a team-based environment.
- Proficiency with common office software and legal research tools; prior law firm or legal clinic experience is an asset.
