OVERVIEW LANGUAGES - English EDUCATION - Secondary (high) school graduation certificate EXPERIENCE - No experience (will train) ON SITE Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.
RESPONSIBILITIES TASKS - Plan or adjust routes based on changing conditions, using computer equipment, global positioning systems (GPS) equipment, or other navigation devices, to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions
- Load and unload goods
- Obtain special permits and other documents required to transport cargo on international routes
- Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials
- Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment
- Perform emergency roadside repairs
- Perform pre-trip,
en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption
- Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo CREDENTIALS CERTIFICATES, LICENCES, MEMBERSHIPS, AND COURSES - Air Brakes Endorsement
- Driver's License (Class 1 or A) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES - Attention to detail
