About ProjectGenova

ProjectGenova is a nonprofit organization focused on increasing access to technology and STEM education for young learners through free, engaging, mentor-led programs. Through the Genova Learning Lab, students build practical skills in mathematics, coding, artificial intelligence, problem-solving, and digital literacy. We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable instructors who enjoy working with young people and can create a supportive, engaging learning environment.

About the Role

As an Instructor, you will support one student pathway throughout the six-week program:

Cadets: Grades 2–5

Commanders: Grade 6+

Using ProjectGenova’s curriculum and program structure, instructors will guide students through Math, Coding, AI activities, and project-based learning.

You do not need to be a certified teacher. We welcome individuals from a variety of educational, professional, and community backgrounds who are comfortable working with young people, explaining concepts clearly, and encouraging participation.

What You Will Teach

Math

- Logic, problem-solving, patterns, percentages, and probability

Coding

- Introductory coding and computational thinking
- Roblox Studio for younger learners
- MIT App Inventor for older learners

Artificial Intelligence

- Introductory AI concepts
- Prompt literacy
- Responsible AI use




- AI-assisted projects and activities

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging virtual lessons across Math, Coding, and AI using ProjectGenova’s curriculum.
- Adapt explanations and activities to students’ ages and learning levels.
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive virtual classroom.
- Encourage participation, curiosity, creativity, and problem-solving.
- Monitor student attendance, participation, and progress.
- Communicate learner progress or concerns to the ProjectGenova program team.
- Support students in preparing for the end-of-program showcase.
- Attend the weekly 30-minute instructor preparation meeting and commit to the full six-week program.
