EmpowHERto is seeking passionate and engaging Volunteer STEM Facilitators to support the delivery of our STEM programs for students ages 13–17. Facilitators create an encouraging learning environment while helping participants explore coding, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, data analytics, digital literacy, and other emerging technologies.

Whether you're an experienced technology professional, university student, educator, or STEM enthusiast, this is an opportunity to inspire the next generation of innovators.

Key Responsibilities

- Facilitate weekly STEM workshops and learning activities.
- Guide students through hands-on coding and technology projects.
- Foster an inclusive, welcoming, and engaging classroom environment.
- Encourage creativity, problem-solving, and teamwork.
- Support students individually during activities and projects.
- Assist with workshop setup, materials, and technology.
- Collaborate with Program Coordinators and fellow volunteers.
- Monitor attendance and provide participant feedback when requested.
- Serve as a positive mentor and role model.
- Ensure all safeguarding and organizational policies are followed.

- Finance 4 HER - Financial Fundamentals
- STEM Career Exploration Workshops

- Qualifications

Preferred

- Interest or background in STEM,



technology, engineering, mathematics, education, or related fields.
- Experience working with youth is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient, encouraging, and enthusiastic teaching style.
- Comfortable using laptops and online learning platforms.
- Ability to explain technical concepts in simple, engaging ways.

No teaching certification is required. Training and curriculum are provided.

- Time Commitment 4-6 hours a week includes facilitation and prep work

Minimum commitment of 6 months

Virtual facilitation

Screening Requirements

- Successful interview
- Vulnerable Sector Check (if required by program location)
- Completion of volunteer orientation and training
- Agreement to EmpowHERto's Code of Conduct and Child Protection Policy
