Family Assistant Job Description

About the Role:
We are looking for a reliable, organized Family Assistant to support the smooth daily operation of our busy household with two children ages 2 and 4. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping a busy family create structure, reduce stress, and maintain a well-run home.

The focus is on afternoon support, home organization, light cleaning, meal prep, and school pickup for our 4 yo. This is not a heavy housekeeping role or full childcare role — it’s a hybrid position focused on family logistics, home upkeep, and simplifying daily routines.

Key Responsibilities:

Home Organization & Light Housekeeping

- Daily “house reset” of main living areas (tidying, counters, dishes, entryways)
- Light cleaning (sweeping, wiping surfaces, managing kitchen cleanliness)
- Laundry support (wash, dry, fold; ensure clothes are put away correctly)
- Maintain household supplies and notify/ order when items need restocking

Meal & Food Preparation

- Prepping ingredients for weeknight dinners (chopping, marinating, assembling, roasting)
- Light cooking as needed (simple meals, slow-cooker prep, children’s snacks)
- Organizing fridge and pantry; maintaining food inventory

Child-Related Tasks





- School pickup of 4 year old at local school (1 km walk)
- Afternoon transition support: snacks, prep activities & light supervision, organizing school items
- Resetting items for the next school day (backpacks, lunch containers, clothing

- Highly reliable, punctual, and self-directed

- Confident in the kitchen (basic cooking prep)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks without supervision
- Experience in similar roles (family assistant, nanny, house manager, etc.) is an asset
