Engage with Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation as a Community Justice Worker, focusing on Indigenous support through diversion and restorative justice. This role involves comprehensive client advocacy and personalized assistance.
As part of the First Nations Justice Strategy, the Community Justice Worker will manage diversion referrals and ensure Indigenous clients have access to restorative resources. This position requires solid organizational skills and the ability to navigate the complexities of community and legal systems effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate court-related diversion referrals for clients
• Attend and represent clients during court appearances
• Implement program delivery in conflict resolution and mediation
• Maintain a comprehensive filing and tracking system
• Foster collaborative relationships with various service agencies
Requirements:
• Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent with experience
• Familiarity with justice issues affecting First Nations
• Effective communication and organizational skills
• Class 5F Manitoba Driver's license mandatory
• Ability to secure necessary criminal record checks
