This position will work out of our Ontario Regional Office (Financial Drive in Mississauga, ON). This is a full-time, casual position covering an 12-month maternity leave that reports directly to the Purchasing Manager.Working Hours: Monday - Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM with occasional after hours and one weekend mandatory for inventory.Work Schedule: HybridTravel :



The successful candidate will be required to travel to the Cambridge Branch a few times per year to conduct inventory counts.JOB RESPONSIBILITES:Monitor inventory levels and enter or adjust purchase orders as required to meet minimum stock levels or inventory turn targetsPrepare and send RFQ’s to vendors and evaluate to determine the best decision to suit the business requirementsRegularly communicate with sales, credit and operations to ensure sufficient product is available to meet customer demandIdentify slow moving or excess inventory items and establish plans for reductionExpedite orders to meet sales and regular stocking requirementsMaintain delivery schedule and coordinate receiving with sales and/or operationsContact suppliers to resolve pricing, quality and delivery related issuesEnsure outstanding service and competitive pricing is provided by developing positive vendor relationships.EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills in dealing with suppliers and internal customersHigh attention to detailAbility to work under pressure, and to balance multiple prioritiesEffective organizational skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational and problem-solving skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office productsPREFERRED:Prior purchasing or sales experience in the metals industryPost secondary education in the field of Metallurgy, Marketing, or Business AdministrationSalary Range: $65,000 - $68,000We are an organization that is committed to the principles of Employment Equity which includes maintaining a fair, equitable and diverse workforce.Yes.
