Make a difference with ADAPT as a full time Addictions Counsellor for Problem Gambling and Behavioral Addictions. This hybrid role involves both in-office and remote work across the Halton Region.
In this impactful position, you will assess client needs, develop treatment plans, and provide individual and group counselling. You will co-facilitate Day Treatment programs, deliver community education on PGBA issues, and maintain accurate clinical records. Your expertise in addictions treatment will greatly assist clients facing gambling challenges and behavioral issues.
Key Responsibilities: • Assess client needs using diagnostic tools and interviews • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans • Facilitate psycho-educational groups and workshops • Provide individual and group counselling sessions • Conduct appropriate case management services
Requirements: • Degree in Social Work or Health-related field • Certification in Addiction Studies preferred • 1-2 years counselling experience in addictions • Strong communication and organizational skills • Knowledge of community resources for diverse populations
