Public Health Inspectors are required to exercise considerable independent judgment in the course of a diverse program delivery. Program aspects include extensive legislation application and enforcement; health hazard assessment and abatement, communicable disease prevention and investigation, health promotion and education.

Education - Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (BSEH)

Licenses - Valid Class 5 driver's license - Certificate in Public Health Inspector (Canada) (CPHI(C))

Competencies - Public relations skills - Interpersonal skills

Knowledge and Abilities - Ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation - Ability to work as a member of a team - Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills. - Exercise sound judgment under pressure - Ability to competently use computers and software applications - Ability to adapt to change or unexpected developments. - Ability to work independently - Ability to take initiative
