Key Responsibilities
- Document patient interactions in accordance with ROHCG health care records practices and policies.
- Assist in daily home/unit activities, including patient counts, meal supervision, refreshments, and other activities as directed by the interdisciplinary team.
- Monitor inventory and coordinate supply reordering.
- Support environmental safety, equipment maintenance inspections, infection control practices, and proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Transport/porter patients, supplies, equipment, mail, requisitions, specimens, and other items.
- Maintain the tidiness, cleanliness, and safety of patient care areas.
- Supervise and monitor patient movement within the home/unit and in the community.
- Support patients with daily living activities, meal supervision, social and leisure activities, and other assigned tasks.
- Assess and report patient interactions and share responsibility with the team for patient care and maintaining a protected environment.
- Participate in program evaluations, discharge planning, implementation of discharge plans,
and assist residents with discharge-related applications.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year post-secondary diploma or certification in health related field.
- Knowledge of infection control principles and use of personal protective equipment.
- Ability to participate as a member of a multidisciplinary clinical team and function well in a team oriented climate.
- Perform clinical work functions that support the provision of patient and family focused care.
- Certified in CPR and First Aid.
- Possess a valid G driver’s license.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a professional multi-disciplinary treatment team.
- Safety and Security in the Workplace Training (candidate must agree to complete prior to start date if this qualification is not met).
Language Requirements
English level A- is mandatory in oral expression, comprehension, reading and writing. Bilingual (French/English) is considered an asset
