License Practical Nurse

Requirements:

- Graduation from a school of nursing approved by the State Education Department from a course approvedby such department as qualifying for Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Possession of a current license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
- Possession of a current CPR certificate.

Assigned Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

- Telehealth interactive medical record use and entry.
- Assists the School Physician in physical examinations. Administers scoliosis, visual and auditory screening examinations for students.
- Administers first aid and emergency treatment to students and employees.
- Orders,



inventories and oversee the storage of first aid and related health supplies and equipment. Keeps all equipment in working order.
- Keeps medications secure in locked cabinet.
- Is alert to the needs of students with learning or behavioural problems, consulting with other professionals where appropriate, providing additional attention for students in need of assistance.
- Works with the Director of Physical Education and Athletics to ensure that all athletes are "cleared" for participation.
- Provides health related information to the Committee on Special Education as requested.
- Provides an setting conducive to privacy, confidentiality and efficiency in school nursing practice.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
