About the Role

Our client is looking for an experienced and proactive Procurement Lead to spearhead their purchasing efforts in a fully remote capacity. This role offers a unique opportunity to establish and refine procurement processes and strategies from the ground up, managing all aspects of sourcing, negotiation, and supplier relationship management. You will play a key role in driving cost savings and ensuring the efficient acquisition of goods and services critical to the company's growth. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills, capable of operating independently and delivering exceptional results within a virtual team setting, leveraging technology to manage complex procurement operations remotely across South Africa .

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and implement a robust procurement strategy, including policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Lead sourcing initiatives for key categories, focusing on cost reduction, quality, and supplier reliability.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure optimal terms and conditions.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key vendors and strategic partners.




- Oversee the entire procure-to-pay process, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
- Analyze market intelligence to identify opportunities and mitigate supply chain risks.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 5-8 years of progressive experience in procurement , with demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Proven success in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data for decision-making.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in advanced procurement software and digital tools for remote collaboration.
