McGill University is seeking a Student Project Assistant for the Blacker-Wood Correspondence Collection. This on-site, part-time position involves hands-on digitization of archival material.
As a Student Project Assistant, you will work under the Digitization administrator from September 6, 2026, to December 23, 2026. Your responsibilities will include using scanning equipment to digitize rare materials, conducting quality checks, and entering data into project spreadsheets. This role provides a unique chance to engage with McGill's special collections while acquiring valuable experience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Utilize various scanning devices for archival materials
• Conduct thorough quality control checks on scans
• Carefully handle rare and delicate documents
• Maintain organized data and project spreadsheets
• Collaborate on digitization of archival material
Requirements:
• Must be enrolled at McGill University
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience not required
• Authorized to work in Canada
• Proficient in English, both written and spoken
