Have you ever wanted to work in a stellar mountain resort surrounded by incredible people?We are looking to recruit a dedicated Lift Mechanic to join our team.A Lift Mechanic is a certified Millwright working full-time in a busy role, helping to ensure that all the chair lifts, surface lifts and passenger conveyors operate without interruption. During summer operational periods, lift mechanics start-up and monitor lift operations during operating hours and respond to problems and emergencies. Compensation Information:

$41.01 to $43.08 per hour (depending on education & experience)

Physical Requirement:

Heavy; work activities involve handling loads up to 35kg; both in an indoor and outdoor setting.

This job position requires physical presence at the designated location.

Skills you bring with you:

Valid Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic or Millwright certification

Valid BC Class 5 driver's license

Lift 151, 152 and 153 courses through Selkirk College





Good attendance and flexibility with scheduling; schedule requirements include weekend, holiday coverage, and night shifts as required

Good knowledge of the CSA-Z98 code and the B.C. Safety Act and Elevating devices regulations

Good working knowledge of the current OH&S; regulations as they pertain to lift maintenance

Good communication skills and the ability to work well with others

Must be able to maintain a calm, friendly manner under periods of stress and demonstrate excellent communication skills

Able to meet the physical requirements of the position such as lifting up to 25kg, walking through difficult terrain, climbing lift towers, etc.

Able to work in all weather conditions

Able to operate snowmobiles, ATVs and 4x4 trucks in a protected and responsible manner

Self-motivated, professional, dependable, timely, cooperative and able to work with others with minimal supervision

Able to work at heights on ropeway towers

Strong desire for a career in the ski industry

Primary Responsibilities:

Perform scheduled and un-scheduled maintenance on all lifts in accordance with company requirements, manufacturer’s recommendations, and the CSA Z-98 code requirements

Always maintain professional and credible representation of Sun Peaks Resort and the Lift Maintenance department

Assist in building and maintaining a strong preventative maintenance program

Keep good records of work performed, tracking hours on CMMS and required forms

Keep up to date and use of CMMS, Edge Auditor,



Alpine Connect 2.0, etc.

Mentor, train, and oversee apprentices and other workers assigned to work with you to ensure safety and efficiency, and avoid equipment damage

Always follow all safety procedures as required

Report and rectify any unsafe situations

To assist in any emergency situations such as lift evacuations, search and rescue, firefighting etc.

Attend all required orientations and training sessions.

Occasionally cover supervisory roles in the absence of the Lift Maintenance Manager and the Lead Hand

All other duties as required to ensure successful operation of the department including the support of other departments and special promotions
