Pipeline Technicians operate, maintain, test, and inspect our natural gas pipeline, valves & operators and associated pipeline building assemblies in a manner which meets operational needs in compliance with company and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the Pipeline Manager, Northern Ontario, this position will provide oversight for and execute our organization’s pipeline operations and maintenance program, damage prevention program as well as provide support to the transfer compressor operation. This individual must be a self-starter, capable of working with minimal supervision, who possesses excellent troubleshooting, problem solving and communication skills.The role is overtime eligible and will be part of an on-call rotating schedule in which you will be subject to call-out for emergency response. The regular work schedule will be: Week 1: Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is an 8-hour day. Week 2: Monday to Thursday 9 hours / day; Friday is a Regular DayOff (RDO).What You’ll DoPerform inspections, troubleshooting and repair on equipment such as actuators, valves, stem seals, and other related componentsPlan and lead pipeline isolation, blowdowns and other gas handling activities including installation and operation of air movers/expellersConduct pipeline purging, loading and bleed ins to pressurize pipelines,



and complete return to service activitiesProvide support as necessary to the operation of transfer compressor for pipeline pull downsPerform One Call line locatesPerform gas leak surveys as reported by aerial patrolsPerform and assist with various tasks associated with in-line inspection programsComplete preventative and corrective maintenance PMs/CMs as required and close out work orders.Complete work orders, enter data into job plans, create new notifications, etc. in SAPOperate and maintain natural gas pipelines and associated equipmentRead and interpret alignment sheetsLead/manage the protected and efficient completion of low complexity projects to include the coordination and monitoring of contractor work activities or third-party active controlProvide coaching, mentoring and training to other personnelAssist with all types of line crossings (foreign or seismic) of TC Energy pipeline assetsComplete basic “as built” prints and update related documentation with respect to One Call and pipeline related schematicsIdentify encroachment issues, report and manage unauthorized activitiesCommunicate and provide damage prevention education to contractors, the general public, landowners, and government agencies relative to gas operationsAssist with general pipeline right-of-way (ROW) maintenance activities such as erosion or sink hole repairs, line patrols, and installation of identification signs and postsComplete LDAR repairs, planned and corrective maintenance as requiredProvide on call support to the regionPerform tasks from other disciplinesMinimum QualificationsJourneyman certification in a trade (i.E., Millwright, HD Mechanic) or two years of post-secondary training in a related field5 years relevant work experience related to PipelinesProven Mechanical knowledge, skills and experienceExcellent work safety record and a safe work attitudePreferred QualificationsExperience with valve operation, inspection, maintenance and repairExperience operating and maintaining high pressure natural gas pipelines and/or facilitiesComputerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
