Reporting to the Health and Safety Advisor, the Health and Safety Specialist plays an essential role within the Human Resources team. This temporary position requires a candidate with a diploma in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline and two years of experience in a unionized workplace. You will lead safety initiatives and foster relationships with various stakeholders while advising on health regulations and compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct safety inspections and investigations
• Provide advice to managers and health committees




• Track safety program metrics with database reports
• Prepare safety reports and communications
• Maintain working relationships with internal and external parties
Requirements:
• Minimum two years in a unionized workforce
• Thorough knowledge of safety regulations
• Microsoft Office proficiency
• Experience with HR Information Systems
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License in BC
