Description Assistant to the Director, Cannabis and Marketing 1 Permanent, Full-time position Cannabis & Marketing Division Competition No. C1109-26 SDIR (E)
As a member of the Cannabis & Marketing Division, this position serves as a primary point of contact for customers, visitors, stores, suppliers and other stakeholders, providing qualified and responsive front desk and customer service support for NLC Head Office. The position also provides administrative and operational support to the Director of Cannabis & Marketing and the broader division.
This position may be responsible for the following:
Provide administrative, operational, and coordination support to the Director of Cannabis & Marketing and the broader department;
Coordinate purchasing, invoice processing, and related administrative activities, ensuring accuracy and timely completion;
Prepare correspondence, documents, reports, presentations, and other materials as required;
Coordinate departmental meetings, schedules, travel arrangements, records, and other administrative activities;
Provide professional reception and switchboard services for NLC Head Office, including responding to inquiries and directing calls and visitors appropriately;
Respond to and coordinates customer, store, supplier, and public inquiries, including complaints and requests related to beverage alcohol and cannabis operations;
Process online gift card orders accurately and efficiently and supports stores and internal departments with bulk order requests;
Maintain accurate departmental records, documentation, schedules, and confidential information in accordance with NLC requirements;
Support effective communication and coordination between internal departments, stores, suppliers, customers, and external stakeholders;
Provide general administrative and operational support to the Cannabis & Marketing Division and performs other related functions as required.
The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:
Completion of a recognized post-secondary diploma in Office Administration, Business Administration, or a related discipline; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;
Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible administrative, customer service, or office coordination experience in a fast-paced office environment;
Strong administrative and organizational skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple priorities, manage interruptions, and maintain accuracy under pressure;
Demonstrated ability to provide professional and responsive customer service while managing inquiries, complaints, and sensitive situations with discretion and professionalism;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with customers, employees, visitors, suppliers, and stakeholders across the organization;
Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism in a publicly accountable environment;
Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing demands, and adapt to changing requirements;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other computerized administrative systems.
