Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption:

No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)



Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Competencies Verbal communication skills Written Communication Skills Conflict resolution skills Basic - Computer skills Listening skills Interpersonal skills Knowledge and Abilities Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level Scheduled hours of work may be reduced during the rotation stipulated when a statutory holiday is recognized during that period.
