Reporting to the Manager or designate for the area of province they are working, the Emergency Medical Services - EMT/PCP responds to emergency and non-emergency events. and provides assessment, treatment and transportation of the ill or injured persons consistent with The Saskatchewan Ambulance Act and Regulations; Saskatchewan College of Paramedics (SCoP) Clinical Practice Protocols; The Paramedics Act and bylaws; and Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) policies, procedures and work standards. Human Resources Exemption:

No Education Primary Care Paramedic Certificate from an approved educational institute Licenses Valid Class 4 driver's license Other Education and Training Basic Life Support Certificate (BLS) Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR)



International Trauma Life Support Certificate (ITLS) Competencies Interpersonal skills Written Communication Skills Conflict resolution skills Verbal communication skills Basic - Computer skills Listening skills Knowledge and Abilities knowledge of legislation and regulations which governs practice Ability to operate emergency vehicles safely and effectively Familiar with the SK Ministry of Health Ambulance Information System. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team Physically able to perform the duties of pre-hospital emergency care Ability to function effectively in high stress and in emergency situations Demonstrates the ability to be resourceful and to adapt to changing conditions Demonstrated ability to use sound clinical judgement Decision making through the application of knowledge and critical thinking Able to safely and consistently lift/load stretcher on a regular basis Other Information Registered/eligible with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at PCP/EMT level
