As this is a term position until July,2027, currentindeterminate Government of Nunavut employees may be offered a competitive transfer assignment for the duration of the term if they are deemed to be the successful candidate, however this is subject to managerial approval. Under the direction of the Manager, the Staffing Officer - Casual/Relief/Tuglirijavut leads in the development and implementation of staffing programs related to Casual and Relief employee hiring.
The position is also responsible for the administration of the Tuglirijavut Student Employment Program. This position provides a variety of human resources and recruitment services to the Government of Nunavut (GN) headquarters departments in accordance with the provisions of the Nunavut Agreement (Article 23), all established GN Acts, Regulations, Guidelines, Policies, Procedures, all applicable Collective Agreements and the Canadian Human Rights Act. Through the application of Article 23, the GN Priority Hiring Policy, this position enhances the Casual Employment opportunities for Nunavut Inuit, consults and assists departments in implementing their Inuit Employment Plans. The position will recommend changes to the Casual/Relief/Tuglirijavut hiring programs and implement any changes which have a territory wide effect
