Reporting to the Assets Manager, you will be responsible for safely transporting gravel, aggregate, materials, and equipment in support of SRG projects. The ideal candidate is safety‑focused, reliable, and experienced operating commercial vehicles in varying road, weather, and site conditions.This position will primarily support the Civil construction projects in the North Thompson Valley on Reduction Project located in the Valemount and Clearwater areas. Drivers may also be dispatched to support other active SRG projects as operational requirements dictate. The designated muster point for this position is the Barriere Laydown Yard.This is a project‑term opportunity from June 2026 to December 2026, or until project completion, whichever occurs first.Schedules may vary based on operational requirements and may include:Up to 6 days per week, 12‑hour shiftsUp to 5 days per week, 8‑hour shiftsUp to 40 regular hours per weekAbility to work away from home and travel to project sites as requiredOur ideal candidate has the following qualifications:Secondary school diploma or equivalentMinimum two (2)



years of gravel truck driving experienceValid Class 3 Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstractClass 1 Driver’s Licence preferredExperience hauling equipment using gooseneck, lowbed, or similar trailers considered a strong assetExperience with Electronic Logging Devices (ELOGs)Knowledge of proper load securement and load balancing techniquesDemonstrated ability to operate large commercial vehicles safely in varying terrain, road, and weather conditionsBasic mechanical knowledge and ability to conduct routine inspections and identify maintenance concernsAbility to work independently while maintaining regular communication with dispatch and supervisorsAbility to work extended hours, varying shifts as stated above, and travel away from home when requiredExperience working with First Nations communities is considered an assetKnowledge of the Simpcw First Nation community is considered an assetIn this role you will:Operate gravel and dump trucks to transport gravel, sand, aggregate, and other materialsAssist with loading and unloading materials while ensuring loads are distributed safely and evenlySecure loads in accordance with regulatory and company requirementsSafely unload materials at designated delivery locationsComplete daily pre‑trip, in‑trip, and post‑trip vehicle inspectionsMonitor truck performance and report mechanical issues promptlyPerform routine vehicle maintenance checks including tires, fluids, lights, and safety equipmentAdhere to all applicable traffic laws, commercial transportation regulations, and company policiesOperate Electronic Logging Devices (ELOGs)
