Elevate the well-being of residents as a Mental Health Support Worker in AgeCare's Long-Term Care specialty program. Collaborate with a dedicated interdisciplinary team to support residents with complex mental health needs in a person-centered workplace.
In this vital role at AgeCare, you will work closely with the Resident Care Manager, Social Worker, and Occupational Therapist. Your primary focus will be on providing tailored behavioral and symptom support to individuals aged 18 and older. By using a strength-based approach, you will enhance residents’ psycho-social recovery and facilitate their social integration.
Key Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support mental health residents
• Foster residents' well-being and community re-integration
• Build rapport to enhance residents' problem-solving skills
• Report any unsafe resident behaviors promptly
• Ensure a resident-centered, compassionate environment
Requirements:
• Diploma in Community or Mental Health related fields
• 2+ years of mental health experience
• Skills in non-violent crisis intervention
• Strong observation and body language reading abilities
• Certified in CPR and First Aid
