As an Academic Advisor, you will be part of a centralized team serving all students at UBC Okanagan. You will provide academic and career advice tailored to individual student goals, help in course selection, and facilitate career readiness through various programs. Your expertise will also be required in assessing student performance and addressing academic issues to enhance retention and success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist students in defining academic and career goals
• Advise on work integrated learning opportunities
• Provide job search strategies and labor market insights
• Evaluate student performance for graduation eligibility
• Identify and support students in crisis situations
Requirements:
• Background in academic advising or related fields
• Robust understanding of university policies and procedures
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and proactively
• Knowledge of international educational systems preferred
