The successful candidate will report to the Senior Vice-President & General Counsel and will be a vital partner for the Human Resources team. Responsibilities include providing strategic legal insights on labour relations, advising on changes to the Canada Labour Code, and overseeing compliance with employment legislation. A focus on proactive support during collective bargaining and employee management is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide legal support to HR on employee lifecycle issues • Ensure compliance with labour and employment legislation • Advise on amendments to workplace policies • Support during collective bargaining and arbitration • Collaborate with external legal partners
Requirements: • Member of Law Society of Ontario • Minimum 7 years in labour and employment law • Solid knowledge of Canada Labour Code • Excellent communication and client service skills • Ability to handle sensitive information ethically
