We are seeking a talented andexperienced mechanical engineer to join our power electronics lab. In thisrole, you will be responsible for designing and implementing mechanical systemsand components for our power electronic platforms while enrolling in a PhD’sprogram at the University of British Columbia. During this time, you will be developing and honing a diverse set of skills in mechanical and electricalengineering for a wide spectrum of exciting projects with green energyapplications.
Keyresponsibilities:
- Designand analyze mechanical systems and components for power electronicsapplications
- Developand test prototypes and production-ready products
- Conductthermal management and testing for cooling systems
- Collaboratewith a cross-functional team of electrical, mechanical, and softwareengineers
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Master'sdegree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- 3+years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in power electronicsor a related industry
- Demonstratedproficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and FiniteElement Analysis (FEA) software (e.g. ANSYS, COMSOL Multiphysics, Abaqus)
- Hands-on experience andmachining skills is highly valuable.
- Strongproblem-solving and communication skills
