Overview

CKW Fabrication & Repair is looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator with a robust mechanical background to joint our team. This position is ideal for someone who is comfortable working on heavy trucks and trailers.

This successful candidate will have robust welding and fabrication skills along with the mechanical ability to diagnose problems, disassemble and repair components, and build or modify parts as required.

Responsibilities
Perform MIG welding, cutting, grinding, fitting, and fabrication
Fabricate and repair steel components, brackets, mounts, frames, hitches, and other assemblies
Perform structural repairs and modifications on trucks, trailers, buses, and equipment
Measure, lay out, cut, fit, and weld components accurately
Read and work from drawings, measurements, sketches, and existing components
Remove and reinstall mechanical components as required to complete repairs
Perform general mechanical repairs and troubleshooting
Inspect equipment and identify worn, damaged,



or unsafe components
Use grinders, saws, torches, plasma cutters, drills, presses, and other shop equipment
Complete work efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship
Maintain a clean and safe work area

Qualifications
Previous welding and fabrication experience required
Mechanical background strongly preferred
Experience working on trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, agricultural equipment, or similar machinery is an asset
Robust MIG welding skills
Ability to fabricate from measurements and determine how to complete custom repair work
Good understanding of mechanical components and repair procedures
Ability to safely operate common welding, fabrication, and shop equipment
Ability to work independently and problem-solve
Strong attention to detail

Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
