Master of Speech Language Pathology (SLP) Licenses

Valid Class 5 driver's license Memberships

College of Speech-Language Pathologists & Audiologists of Saskatchewan (CSASK) Competencies

Basic - Keyboarding skills Basic - Computer skills Knowledge and Abilities

Ability to work with patients and their families in a collaborative way Flexible & willing to adapt approach/priorities depending on client/family need Knowledge of the needs of young children & the social & environmental factors Sensitive and understanding of diverse cultural aspects of population served Ability to develop, implement & evaluate preventive & therapeutic programs Knowledge of theories and empirical findings in speech/language pathology Knowledge of normal communication development Able to adjust interpersonal approach during the assessment/consultation process Advocates delivery of culturally safe,



responsive & people-centered healthcare Highly developed organizational and multi-tasking skills Ability to distinguishing normal & abnormal communication development & behavior Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients & Stakeholders Ability to work with young children individually and in small groups. Ability to carry, load and unload equipment and supplies Knowledge in the areas of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and processes Understands developmental factors as they relate to assessment and intervention Knowledge of intervention programs and strategies for individuals and groups Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing Knowledge of resources available to the 0-5 population & their caregivers Adjusts clinical approaches in a culturally responsive and respectful manner Ability to work independently and with broader interdisciplinary teams Understanding social determinants of health for program development & delivery Able to observe and interpret non-verbal cues leading to adjustments to program Knowledge of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action Application of social determinants of health for program development & delivery Other Information
