Our client is looking for a strong finance professional to join their downtown Toronto team. The role is primarily focused on month end close, with some month end analysis and broader financial reporting support. The position is initially structured as a contract, with the potential to become permanent based on business needs and fit.

Principal tasks and responsibilities include:

· Manage and support month end close activities.

· Prepare and review monthly financial reporting.

· Perform month end analysis and investigate variances.

· Complete account reconciliations and ensure financial accuracy.

· Support the preparation of management reporting and financial analysis.

· Work with internal stakeholders to resolve accounting and reporting issues.

· Assist with process improvements and other finance initiatives as required.

Qualifications and pre-requisites:

· CPA enrolled at minimum. Completed CPA would be an asset.

· Experience within financial services or qualified services strongly preferred.

· Strong month end accounting and financial reporting experience.

· Robust analytical skills with the ability to identify and explain variances.

· Robust verbal and written communication skills.

· Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data.

· Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.

· Comfortable working on site 4 days per week in downtown Toronto.
