Bring your auditing expertise to Legal Aid Alberta as a Senior Compliance Auditor in Calgary or Edmonton. This full time role focuses on compliance audits and detailed billing assessments.
In this position, you will report to the Managing Director of Certificate Standards and Compliance. Key responsibilities include ensuring adherence to Legal Aid Alberta’s rules, conducting comprehensive audits on lawyer billing, and analyzing financial trends for compliance. You will work closely with both internal teams and external auditors to develop effective auditing plans and improve overall compliance practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform compliance audits following international standards
• Analyze roster lawyer invoices for accuracy and compliance
• Identify billing trends that violate organizational policies
• Collaborate with management on audit findings and action plans
• Develop guidelines for compliance reviews and audits
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Min of 6 years in accounting or auditing experience
• Robust analytical and problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with MS Office applications and legal tools
• Proven track record of maintaining confidentiality and integrity
