Olymbec is currently seeking a Fire Alarm System Installer (Certified – Code 222) to join our Fire Protection Department. The Fire Alarm System Installer will report to the Fire Alarm Systems Supervisor. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Install, program, inspect, test, and maintain security systems, fire alarm systems, communicators, emergency lighting, and gas detection systems according to current ULC and NBC standards. Produce reports following inspections. Read and understand engineering plans, technical specifications, diagrams, installation manuals, and maintenance manuals. Repair intrusion systems and provide service as needed. Program components and perform system startup. Test the system and its components and conduct tests with the central station and relevant authorities. Identify any anomalies or make recommendations in accordance with current standards. Perform updates and repairs on alarm panels. REQUIREMENTS AND COMPETENCIES: DEP in installation and maintenance of security systems (CCQ - Code 222) or a diploma in electronics or equivalent from a recognized college or university,



or have documented and proven professional skills or equivalent. College certificate in Fire Prevention – an asset. Knowledge of software related to security system programming. Skilled with new technologies in the industry. Familiarity with Mircom and Bosch systems – considered an asset. Ability to lift equipment and tools up to 70 lbs (31 kg) and climb ladders and scaffolding. Knowledge of the National Building Code, National Fire Code, ULC standards, and their updates.
