Become the Policy Manager for the City of Guelph, responsible for strategic intergovernmental relations and policy projects within a hybrid work setting. This temporary full-time role focuses on cooperative governance.
In this pivotal position, you will work closely with the Executive Team and the Mayor, enhancing community partnerships and ensuring the City’s strategic objectives are achieved. You'll leverage your experience in political engagement to manage intergovernmental affairs and facilitate key relationships with First Nations and other governmental entities.
Key Responsibilities:
• Enhance relationships with municipal and community stakeholders • Research intergovernmental policy trends and provide recommendations • Direct policy initiatives and advocacy frameworks • Develop briefings for the CAO and Council • Oversee agreements to ensure accountability and clarity
Requirements: • Significant experience in a senior advisory role • Understanding of Ontario’s political landscape • Proven skills in research, writing, and analysis • Excellent communication and networking capabilities • Experience managing teams is considered an asset
