The Dalhousie Student Union (DSU) is the official representative body for more than 20,000 Dalhousie students, providing advocacy, services, programming, and support for over 250 student societies to enhance student life and build community on campus.

The ideal candidate for this position will:
Be self-directed and have the ability to work independently
Possess excellent teamwork skills and the ability to work collaboratively with others
Have valuable communication skills, be able to maintain relationships with community partners, and the ability to engage students in discussion on food issues
Be organized and have the ability to manage their time effectively between multiple tasks
Possess knowledge on food security and environmental justice
Prior work on, and knowledge of, food systems at Dalhousie is an asset
Food preparation experience and certification an asset
A valid Nova Scotian Driver’s Licence or equivalent and access to a vehicle is an asset
Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Working with the Loaded Ladle to plan, prepare for, and run weekly breakfast servings on Sexton Campus in the winter semester
Keeping updated records of expenses
Engaging volunteers for programming and events
Collaborating closely with others to create and support a variety of sustainability-related programming on campus
Helping to manage social media accounts
Conducting community outreach and promoting campus food initiatives
Strengthening DSUSO relationships with existing groups on and off campus.
This is a paid part time position for an average of 7 hours per week. The position starts
in September 2026 and the end date is April 30th, 2027.
