Become a key part of the care team at Gateway Haven in Wiarton, Ontario, as a Recreation and Leisure Aide. This part time role involves designing therapeutic recreation programs that benefit the elderly's well-being. Reporting to the Recreation & Leisure Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of activities across all five health domains aimed at enhancing residents’ quality of life. Your expertise in recreation studies and hands-on experience in geriatric settings will allow you to make a significant impact through engaging, restorative programming. A positive attitude and robust organizational skills are essential in this fulfilling position. Key Responsibilities:
Plan, implement, and review recreational calendars for residents
Facilitate programs that meet physical and intellectual health needs
Evaluate resident engagement and program success
Work collaboratively with families and staff
Ensure activities meet applicable health care regulations Requirements:
Degree or diploma in recreation or related discipline
Experience within long-term geriatric care environments
Knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation
Effective communicator with robust interpersonal skills
