Join Alpha House as an Overnight Relief Worker, aiding in the support of vulnerable populations during nighttime shifts. This role focuses on safety and well-being while providing essential shelter and detox services. Availability for overnight and weekend shifts is key to this position. You will assess client needs, manage crises, and ensure a respectful workplace in a high-impact setting. Your background in social sciences, crisis management, and community resources will enable you to provide vital support effectively. Key Responsibilities:
Facilitate admissions and discharges for intoxicated clients
Monitor client safety, focusing on withdrawal symptoms
Address crisis situations using de-escalation strategies
Engage respectfully with clients during their stay
Connect clients with treatment resources and support Requirements:
At least a 2-year degree in social sciences (or in progress)
Physical ability to assist clients up to 35 lbs
Valid Vulnerable Sector Search required
Completion of FOIP and Patient Lift training
