Make a difference as a Relief Support Worker with the Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) at Berkana House. Support women’s positive transition from the institution to community through engagement and role modeling. As a Relief Support Worker, you’ll report to the Team Lead and ensure the safety and well-being of residents. This role emphasizes trauma-informed practices and involves supervision of daily activities in both the house and the community. Applicants should possess relevant education or experience and demonstrate a focus on women-centered practices in the criminal justice system. Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the safety and security of residents
Support residents through conversation and engagement




Role model positive behaviors and reintegration activities
Supervise resident activities in the house and community
Perform basic household chores as needed Requirements:
Relevant post-secondary education or experience
Understanding of women-centered practices
Solid communication and crisis intervention skills
Availability for all shifts, including overnights
