Serve as a trusted senior strategic partner to the Executive Vice-President and Leader, Property and Casualty Insurance. Coordinate, lead and/or represent the business area before government authorities and industry associations. Prepare Beneva for and represent the organization at government meetings, industry committees and board meetings. Analyze risks, issues and options to inform decision-making. Monitor strategic issues, market trends, regulatory developments and industry practices. Coordinate the development of corporate positions and communicate consistent messages to Beneva’s various stakeholders. Advise executives on strategies to adopt during industry committee and government meetings. Participate in government consultations regarding regulations, guidelines and legislation affecting the property and casualty insurance sector. Develop and continuously improve an information-sharing process. Prepare briefing notes, recommendations and supporting materials for committees, boards of directors and presentations. Review reports from oversight functions, monitor action plans and support accountability and reporting. Provide strategic expertise on complex, cross-functional or high-impact matters. Participate in the management committee of the Executive Vice-Presidency, Property and Casualty Insurance. Contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring and coaching. Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, finance or another relevant field. At least 10 years of experience in property and casualty insurance, including 5 years working directly with executive teams. Advanced proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written.
Demonstrated ability to understand complex strategic issues in a constantly evolving environment. Systems-thinking capabilities. Excellent synthesis and executive communication skills. Highly comfortable working cross-functionally with colleagues at various levels of the organization and with diverse areas of expertise, including the executive leadership team. Demonstrated ability to influence across the organization without direct hierarchical authority. Knowledge of industry organizations and government bodies is considered an asset. Expertise in risk management, compliance or governance is considered an asset. Core Competencies
