Reporting to the Director of Legal Services, you will handle contentious insurance claims and provide critical legal advice for effective risk management. This role includes drafting legal documents, conducting extensive research, and actively advocating for AMA's interests. Your analytical mindset ensures that strategic legal decisions align with our commitment to member services.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage complex insurance defence and claims litigation files
• Conduct legal research and prepare comprehensive legal summaries
• Draft and negotiate various legal documents with accuracy
• Represent and advocate for AMA's interests in negotiations
• Identify and advise on the implications of legal changes affecting AMA
Requirements:
• Juris Doctor (JD) or Bachelor of Laws (LLB) essential
• Active member of Alberta Law Society required
• 5+ years of relevant litigation experience
• Strong skills in legal analysis and documentation
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced legal workplace
