Important

This is not a general software development, full-stack or prompt-engineering position. Candidates must have hands-on experience designing, building and evaluating AI or machine-learning systems beyond simply integrating third-party LLM APIs. Strong candidates should have practical experience with Python, predictive modelling, feature engineering, model evaluation, RAG, embeddings/vector search and LLM-based systems. You should be able to describe AI/ML systems you have personally designed, the approaches you tested and how you objectively measured their performance.

Experience developing scoring, ranking or recommendation systems and moving AI capabilities from experimentation into production is strongly preferred.

Role Overview

We are seeking an AI Engineer to help design and develop advanced AI capabilities for a new internal technology initiative within the financial services industry.

You will work at the intersection of artificial intelligence, data and software engineering to develop intelligent systems that can analyze complex information, identify meaningful patterns and support better business decision-making.

This is a hands-on development role. You will work closely with our technical team and business leadership to experiment with new approaches, evaluate their effectiveness and move successful solutions into production.

Key Responsibilities

- Design and develop AI and machine-learning capabilities
- Build and evaluate predictive models and intelligent decision systems
- Develop LLM-based applications and workflows
- Design RAG and information-retrieval architectures
- Perform feature engineering across structured and unstructured datasets
- Develop scoring, ranking and recommendation methodologies
- Explore approaches combining machine learning, LLMs and deterministic business logic




- Develop methods for producing reliable and explainable AI outputs
- Design evaluation frameworks and performance benchmarks
- Test models, prompts, retrieval strategies and alternative architectures
- Work with software developers to integrate AI capabilities into production systems
- Develop safeguards to improve accuracy and reliability
- Monitor and improve AI system performance
- Document experiments, technical approaches and results

Ideal Profile

We are looking for a practical AI builder who is comfortable working on problems where the solution is not known in advance.

You should be able to take an ambiguous business problem, translate it into a technical hypothesis, build and test different approaches, measure the results and turn successful experiments into reliable software.

You do not need to come from financial services. Strong technical problem-solving ability, curiosity and the ability to rapidly experiment are more important.

What You'll Work On

You will contribute to a multi-year technology and R&D; initiative focused on applying modern AI techniques to complex financial-services data and workflows.

The specific architecture, datasets, use cases and commercial applications will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
