Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently seeking an Asphalt Laboratory Technician to join our team in Burlington, ON.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with a team of materials technical staff performing laboratory tests
- Assist with lab safety program, lab CCIL certification, MTO correlation programs, preparing for lab audits, maintaining quality control and ensuring timely execution of lab tests
- Experience in performing mix designs and mix design checks will be an asset
- Prepare laboratory test reports
- Manage and deliver high quality projects safely, on-time, within budget and to the satisfaction of the client
- Other duties and laboratory testing as may be assigned from time to time
Qualifications
- Diploma in Civil Technology (with commensurate work experience) or related discipline
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with OACETT will be an asset
- Approximately two years in experience in construction QA/QC testing CCIL Asphalt Laboratory Superpave & Marshall (Type A, B & E)
- Experience with Ontario Ministry of Transportation laboratory testing protocols considered an asset
- Excellent organization skills and ability to multi-task
- Must have sound knowledge of laboratory testing protocols
- Must pass physical, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record
- Ability to lift maximum 50 pounds
- Ability to work morning and evening shifts and some extended hours
