and tickets to some of your favorite sports and entertainment eventsAccess to continuing education and training through Shannex’s Centre of ExcellenceOpportunities to be part of sector innovation and continuous improvement initiatives Recognition and Rewards for service excellence and safetyAbout The OpportunityPerforms general maintenance duties and scheduled preventive maintenance work on physical facilities, equipment and groundsConducts routine and follow-up inspections to determine compliance with Occupational Health and Safety rules and regulations, chemical and general safety standards; submits reports and makes recommendations and/or takes appropriate action to minimize potential safety, health and environmental risksMaintains current knowledge of changes in provincial, federal, OHS and other safety codes and regulations as applicableAdministers the operating budget for plant and building services; prepares purchaseorders, verifies and approves invoices for paymentAccesses PM Worx program for Preventive Maintenance schedules and processes work orders through the same programParticipates in emergency (disaster)



plan and mock disaster exercisesWorks in conjunction with Shannex fire and safety policies to help train staff in fire safety techniques; schedules fire drills and evaluates performance effectivenessAbout YouJourneyman Trade Certificate in one of the Buildings Trades or equivalent experience in building maintenance or construction.?Knowledge of tools and equipment used in the building/mechanical tradesKnowledge of heating, ventilating and lighting systems used in the facilityKnowledge of WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety legislationA clear criminal record with vulnerable sector screening upon hireProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteAssets2+ years’ experience working in building maintenance or constructionStrong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Maintenance Tracking software such as Asset PlannerPrevious working experience with elderly in long-term care or a senior living environmentGreat People is a core value at Shannex, grounded in the belief that our team members are the spirit and foundation of our organization.
