Reporting to Palos' Chief Financial Officer, the incumbent will be responsible for administering and monitoring the financial system to ensure that the financial information relating to Palos, its affiliates and the investment funds managed by them, is maintained in an accurate and timely manner.
Your responsibilities include
- Financial Management
- Prepare the annual and semi-annual financial statements for the company, its affiliates, and the investment funds under management
- Active participation in the yearly audit
- Prepare and analyse the monthly balance sheet and income statement
- Accurately record transaction information
- Implement financial controls, policies and procedures
- Assist in the budget preparation process
- Calculate and monitor working capital requirements
- Monitor cash reserves and investments
- Prepare the annual regulatory disclosure for the funds and the company
- Account management
- Supervise accounts payables and receivable to ensure accuracy of records
- Supervise the preparation of financial information
- Compile documentation and perform accounting reconciliations
- Fund Accounting
- Supervise fund accounting carried out by the external service provider
- Prepare monthly and audit documentations
- Analyse and reconcile client account information
- Assist the team in managing fund transactions
- Review the net asset value prepared by an external service provider
- Special projects
- Take on or assist with special projects as required
- Perform other related tasks as required by the position
Your profile
- CPA auditor designation;
- 5 years of experience or more, including 3 years in auditing/audit firm;
- Experience in the financial and securities industry (an asset);
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
- Autonomous, proactive and able to work effectively under pressure;
- Ability to develop and maintain a positive, effective and trusting relationship with various stakeholders;
- Attention to detail and excellent ability to manage multiple priorities;
