Job Summary The Director of Mental Wellness provides strategic leadership in the establishment, development and oversight of the Mental Wellness department. This position is responsible for building and leading a multidisciplinary team and developing the department’s strategic direction, programs and operational structures. This position will oversee projects related to mental wellness, addictions and treatment-based programming for Yukon First Nations and Indigenous citizens.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in health, social work or a related field, or, equivalency obtained through course work and/or work experience.
- A minimum of five years’ experience working in a health or social field.
- Expertise in Health & Wellness and Wellness, with demonstrated experience in mental health, community wellness, or related fields, preferably in Indigenous contexts.
- Budgeting skills, including program financial management, monitoring expenditures, and working with funding agreements or grants.
- Knowledge of Yukon First Nations cultures, histories, and governance structures, and commitment to culturally grounded, trauma-informed practice.
- Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience, with the ability to guide multidisciplinary teams and manage complex programs.
