Role Description:
The Front of House Manager is a part-time to full time, on-site role located at the St.
Albert Central Social
Hall. This role oversees daily front-of-house operations, ensuring guests receive attentive, professional service and that the atmosphere remains welcoming and energetic.
Responsibilities include supervising and supporting servers, hosts, bartenders, and food expeditors, managing floor plans and reservations, and handling both staff and guest inquiries or concerns in a timely, respectful manner. The Front of House Manager will coordinate with the kitchen and bar teams to maintain smooth service, assist with staff training and shift briefings,
and help drive sales through effective upselling and promotion of menu items and events. The role also includes basic administrative tasks related to inventory and corporate / AHS food, health & safety standards compliance.
Qualifications:
- Strong Communication skills, with the ability to clearly coordinate with staff and interact with guests in a professional, welcoming manner.
- Proven Customer Service skills, including experience resolving guest issues and maintaining a high level of hospitality in a busy environment.
- Knowledge of Food & Beverage operations, such as menu familiarity, service standards, and basic understanding of bar and kitchen workflows.
- Experience in Training team members, providing constructive feedback, and supporting ongoing development of front-of-house staff.
- Ability to manage and support a team of 70+ staff members, with 15-35 on shift at all times.
- Sales skills, including comfort with upselling, promoting specials and events, and supporting revenue goals through guest engagement.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in restaurants, bars, or hospitality is preferred.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, work evenings and weekends, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of health, safety, and service regulations; ProServe or equivalent certification is required.
