Our Organization

According to the Public Health Agency of Canada's National Autism Spectrum Disorder Surveillance System, an estimated 1 in every 50 (2%) Canadian children and youth is diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder — and that rate has continued to rise. While early-childhood supports exist in pockets across the country, services thin dramatically after diagnosis, through the school years, and virtually disappear in adulthood.

The Living Autism Foundation (LAF) is a Canadian nonprofit built to close that gap with a full-lifespan model of support — from first diagnosis through adulthood.

Our work is organized around five pillars: Family Navigation & Crisis Support, The Bridge Curriculum (our flagship, a sequenced K–12 neurodiversity literacy framework for school board adoption), Community Inclusion & Employment, Adult Lifecourse Services, and a Research & Policy Accelerator. LAF is currently pursuing registered charity status with the Canada Revenue Agency and is governed by a structure built for accountability — including a documented referral verification protocol, clinician recusal policies, and a standing Autistic Advisory Council with real decision-making authority.

The Role The Living Autism Foundation is looking for 2 volunteer Project Managers to bring PMO-level discipline to our program and organizational rollout — including the Bridge Curriculum's school board pilot pathway, our CRA charitable registration milestones, and cross-pillar initiatives already underway. Core responsibilities include maintaining project plans and timelines, tracking risks and dependencies, coordinating between the Executive Director, Sprezza Advisory (our strategic and production partner), board members, and volunteer teams, running regular status meetings, and distributing transparent minutes and action items.

This is a founding-stage role with real scope:



you'll help build the project management backbone of a national nonprofit from the ground up, applying formal methodology — governance, risk management, benefits realization — to work that has direct, measurable impact on autistic individuals and families across Canada.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain project plans, timelines, and RAID (risks, assumptions, issues, dependencies) logs across LAF's five program pillars
- Track progress against the Bridge Curriculum rollout and CRA charitable registration milestones
- Coordinate and run recurring check-ins with the Executive Director, Sprezza Advisory, board members, and volunteer leads
- Prepare and distribute meeting agendas, minutes, and action-item trackers
- Stand up and maintain project tracking in Asana (or equivalent), including task ownership and status reporting
- Flag scope, timeline, or resourcing risks early, including cash-flow-sensitive dependencies tied to grant timing
- Support intake and onboarding coordination for incoming volunteers across other roles

Desired Skills and Expertise

- PMP certification (or actively pursuing) strongly preferred; equivalent PMO or project delivery experience considered
- Demonstrated project management experience, ideally spanning multiple concurrent workstreams
- Comfort with project tracking tools such as Asana, Notion, or similar
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including stakeholder and board-level reporting
- Ability to work independently and hold a small,



distributed volunteer team to timelines
- Strong organizational skills and comfort operating with founding-stage ambiguity
- Familiarity with nonprofit or charitable-sector operations is an asset, though not required
- Genuine interest in autism inclusion and accessibility; lived or professional experience with the autism community is welcome but not required — we'll share what we know

- Approximately 8–12 hours per week, with flexibility around your schedule
- This is a 6-month initial commitment, with the possibility of extending into a longer-term advisory or board-track role
