As a member of the Community Recovery Services and under the general direction of the Manager of CRS the primary goal will be to restore, maintain and enhance the recovery of youth, young adults and adults with severe and persistent mental illness, seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related issues. Responsibilities include assessment & screening, individual & group counseling, case management & educational sessions.

Experience
- 1 yr exp working with a concurrent disorder population in a community setting.
Education
- Degree in Addiction Counseling or another Degree acceptable to the Employer or
- Bachelor of Chemical Dependency or
- Bachelor of Social Sciences (BSocSC)
Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong organizational skills with ability to prioritize urgent client needs
- Knowledge of Sask Model of Recovery Services and motivational assessment process
- Knowledge in development model of recovery (SMRS)
- Ability to provide individual, group and crisis management counselling skills
- Knowledge of how addictions impacts the individual, community and families
- Familiarity with community programs/resources required for psycho-social rehab
- Promote healthy lifestyles in urban & rural settings with diverse populations
- Knowledge of community outpatient and inpatient service delivery systems
- Robust interpersonal skills
- Ability to accurately assess addictions and make appropriate recovery plans
